Sweet tooth

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Only the most honest of us will admit to having a sweet tooth. A sweet tooth is where we have a fairly large appetite for sweet food, which in turn, effects our teeth. The more sugary food that we have eat, the more plaque is attracted and thus the easier it is for the tooth corrodes. This can be combated by eating foods with less sugar, or sweet foods with no sugar. Also, brushing our teeth twice a day can keep them clean and looking fresh, whilst also taking care of any plaque, as well as keeping them whiter than not.

Colgate oral Health Month

September signals the beginning of the Colgate Oral Health month. Colgate, in association with the British Dental Association (BDA) are running a programme UK Wide to help promote the importance of oral health. It is an initiative to educate the UK public, through communication between professionals and the public. Road shows and mobile units will be touring venues throughout the month teaching people good brushing techniques and promoting ‘prevention in practice’.
Majority of practices in the UK have taken part in the initiative this year and will be displaying their promotional materials throughout their practises to highlight and increase awareness of the campaign.

Naked Dental Appointment!

dental appointment

Well this news story certainly made me chuckle. Looking on dentistry websites for tips about bad breath I found a story about an American man who turned up for his dentist appointment naked!!
The man claims that he was sleeping the whole day and doesn’t remember the incident, but he also refused to have his finger prints taken which is a bit suspicious! However the part of the report that made my really giggle was the fact that the news story commented on the fact that the man was already 5 days late for his appointment!
The receptionist identified him by his blue eyes and good tan! Again I find this slightly odd that the receptionist clocked his eyes!
